A New Year can mean a new start, a new story, a new beginning or it can be a chance to renew your focus on a previous goal. Here at Royersford ATA, we have decided the best way to encourage our students to renew their commitment to the practice of Taekwondo is to remind them to set Goals. A Goal is something that you want and are willing to work for.
We believe that the best way to teach our students is by example. So Royersford ATA is setting some Goals of our own.
While we love the physical part of our classes, we believe that there is more to martial arts than just being able to punch and kick. We want to teach our students what it means to be a good citizen and a well rounded part of our community. We want to encourage our students to complete our Good Habits Checklist, and we will be re-introducing a Star System for Karate Kids and Adults. Parents can help by letting our instructor know when your child had gone above and beyond. We will be happy to recognize them in class for their good deeds! We also encourage them to show us great report cards and we are looking forward to handing out lots of stars! Our Goal is to have every student earn at least 10 blue stars by the end of the year.
Part of being a good citizen is helping our community. This year we would like to help at least 6 different organizations. Last year, we were able to help Autism Speaks, Julia’s Grace Foundation, Pink Belt Revolution, Operation Backpack, and Adopt A Family. This year we are hoping for even more. Have an idea of someone we should consider? Let us know! We would love to hear from you!
We have decided that better communication with our students should be a goal this year. So, we will be launching our Royersford ATA Newsletter, along with increasing our Facebook presence and sending more emails with important information. Have an idea of something we should include? Let us know!
Goals should be something you want and are willing to work for, but a goal can be ever changing. So if we succeed at the goals we have set, we can always add new and bigger goals. Please help us make 2016 the best year ever!
